One of the most beautiful cities in Ukraine, popularly regarded as the cultural capital of the nation. The entire oldest part of the city ("Stare Misto") is protected by the UNESCO heritage list and is a car-free zone. In 2011, the city started to develop its cycling network, and now is one of the leading cities in Ukraine in promoting bicycles. Western tourists often compare Lviv to cities like Krakow, Prague and Paris, although pointing out that accommodation, dining and shopping are much more affordable in Lviv. One day is barely enough to enjoy this fascinating city, so we recommend to spend at least two days here before continuing your journey.
